Single / Double Weekend at the Barn

Walworth BMX is running a single / double weekend this Saturday and Sunday. Saturday practice and registration begins at about 2 and registration closes at 4 ... racing begins ASAP. Sunday registration is from 10 to noon with racing ASAP after registration closes.

2007 Milwaukee BMX Schedule

We are very close to submitting our schedule to the ABA. We are taking a very careful look at running a majority of our races on Weeknights, like the Metro Mountain Bikers. A handful of multi-point (state championship) races and other special event races would be held on weekends. Feedback is, of course, welcome ... but, the way things look ... we're looking closely at racing Thursdays and having track gates on Tuesdays ... that would run through June, July and August. There are two weekend races in both September and October. And, the schedule kicks off with one or two new rider clinics in May.

That's it for now ... c-ya at the races.

After waiting inline last night waiting to pay for practice at walworth I had a idea. For years I race motocross. At a couple tracks you could buy 10 practice cards. For instance at Lake geneva you would buy a practice card for 90 bucks that had 10 credids, instead of ten bucks a practice. You would hand them your ama card and they would punch your card and you were out. No Screwing arounf with money. Plus other could buy them as gifts.

Ken,

It's an interesting idea ... and I like it on a couple of levels ... I'll definitely pass the information along to Mittelstadt to discuss.

One thing I'm curious about ono the old AMA program ... if you didn't use your 10 in a season ... did they carry over from one year to the next?

no, good for one season. They just created the card on colored card stock on a home printer. Anyone could use the card. There was no rider name on it. The card had the track logo and that year with boxes on top and bottom to punch.

Ken, you can count on the fact that I'll be talking to John about that ... seems like a totally great idea to me.

Thanks for the heads up.
